We begin our discussion of Friday in this discussion.

Questions answered in this episode:

1. At the cross, John is the only one of the 12. However, several of the women were there. Why do the women feel they can be at the cross, but the disciples could not?

2. All the disciples said they would die before they would disown Jesus in Matthew 26:35. As we know John was the only one at the cross. It seems they all left Jesus alone and Peter is the only one criticized. Why?

3. What meaning might we find in the emotional/ mental suffering of Jesus in the Passion (both in the garden and the denial of Peter and flight of the other disciples except John), what does it say to our own sufferings?

4.How does the Bible portray Pilate's intentions toward Jesus? What does he think about Him compared to the Jewish leaders' idea of Him and are these attitudes toward Jesus still found today?
