#42 Ladies First

May 8, 2024    Phil McAllister, Tyler Fyffe, McKayla Patrick

In this episode we discuss the Roman guards and the comparison of the first and second Adam. We also spend a significant portion of the discussion on the ladies being the first to see Jesus post resurrection.

Questions:

1. Would there be any consequences the Roman guard would face for failure to keep the tomb secure?

2. How does Paul's writing about the first and second Adam tie into the resurrection?

3. What spiritual significance might there be in Mary mistaking Jesus for the gardener until he said her name? Practically how could she fail to recognize someone she knew so well?

4. Is there significance to Jesus appearing first to the women at the tomb rather than to the 12? How would this be perceived in the culture of the day and why might Jesus choose to reveal Himself to them first?
